After much anticipation, the polls for the 2014 Philly HOT LIST opened last week. Voting kicked off Monday, July 14th and things got exciting right out of the gate. With more than a dozen new categories to vote in and hundreds of new nominees, the first few days saw a frenzy of activity. After the first week, we counted a whopping total of 6,085 nominations and more than 23,000 votes.

After a strong first week, we expect Philadelphia area voters to keep their foot on the pedal. Nominees that got out to fast starts may be sitting pretty in first place now, but with the polls open until 7th of September, complacency is not an option. Until next week!
